Wonder Woman™ Comic Art Coin and Medal Program

Leaping into action, Wonder Woman™ is the next release in the Comic Art Coin and Medal Program, the groundbreaking celebration of comic book art as a uniquely American art form. First introduced in 1941, Wonder Woman embodies empowerment, compassion, and equality. As a warrior and ambassador, she champions peace and justice, core American ideals that inspire generations.

On the obverse, Wonder Woman leaps into action, clutching her shield and Lasso of Truth. The background features stripes from the American flag, a tribute to her WWII-era costume, with Liberty inscribed above. The inscriptions are “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and “2025” (24-karat gold coin); “LIBERTY” and “2025” (2.5-ounce silver medal); and “LIBERTY” (one-ounce silver medal).

Mint Chief Engraver Joseph Menna designed and sculpted the obverse.

On the reverse, she’s featured alongside three doves soaring above Earth—symbolic of her commitment to global peace, equality, and justice as Earth’s champion. A devoted warrior for peace and equality, see her newly minted in proof finish 24-karat gold coin, fine silver medals, and later in a three-medal set. The inscriptions are “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” “$50,” “1/2 OZ,” and “.9999 FINE GOLD” (24-karat gold coin); “WONDER WOMAN” and “PEACE AND EQUALITY” (2.5-ounce silver medal); and “WONDER WOMAN” and “PEACE AND EQUALITY” (one-ounce silver medal).

Mint Chief Engraver Menna designed the reverse, which was sculpted by Mint Medallic Artist Phebe Hemphill.

  1. Interesting looking, to see comic heroes, in coin form? Would be
A nice addition to an of comic books collection for anyone!!!
Priced , economical for coin collector too .

  2. I like the design, as well as the idea behind comic characters on coins. Some of us grew up with comic books and it is refreshing to see childhood heroes immortalized like this. I was a baseball card buyer, so I didn’t buy many comics. It didn’t keep me from knowing the characters though! Wish I had the money to invest in these!

  3. As I see it, we need more super heroes in this world… and to me each woman is a vision of wonder in their own right. This coin is an excellent example of this!

  4. Super Hero coins has the potential to be very popular. I would think that Marvel would have a broader appeal with its range of characters, themes and fans.

  5. Beautiful artwork. I like Wonder Woman. The coins are expensive for the average comic book reader. I would still love one.
